Trendspotting: Farm to table

It's the next big thing - forget food miles or organic, the trend now is to cut out the middle man (and the carrier bags) to enjoy farm fresh food!

We are in the process of teaming up with Eat Local in Alrewas, a local initiative where vegetables and other fresh food is ordered by the villagers via the energetic and health-minded Abbey Saunders. She puts all the orders together and they are delivered by the farmer every week. Locals collect their veggie boxes from a central point (in Alrewas, it is the British Legion clubhouse) and everyone feels happier and healthier for doing it. We will be adding a few goodies to Eat Local's order list - most likely quiches, soups and cakes to begin with. Watch this space!
