We are so proud of our beautiful new packaging. We were very keen to present our lovely food in the very best way and so we researched the market until we found just what we wanted.
Our criteria included the obvious environmental issue of recycling. We hit upon Vegware, a wonderful Edinburgh based business who create compostable packaging. They say "You can’t recycle food with plastic in it, and you can’t recycle plastic with food on it. Moving to compostable catering disposables means that food and packaging waste can be recycled together and provides the only true recycling solution for zero waste in food service". We love this concept and have adopted it as far as we can for our own catering supplies.
We back any initiative to reduce waste and look after the environment. As coffee shops are urged to move towards re-useable cups and celebrities such as Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall encourage us all to create less waste, we are happy to be doing our bit.
We use compostable bags, paper, stickers and soup pots - they're not just good for the earth, they look great: homely/rustic but clean and substantial at the same time.
